Unicode character info via JSON

2006-12-02

I got a request for a code-friendly version of the Unicode Character data, so I made some of the data available via JSON

The data is all available directly from the Unicode.org site, but it scattered across a bunch of different files and not all that easy to parse. And it doesn't make sense to parse everything if you only want information for a single character.

So, next to every index.htm page is an index.json page. For example: http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/002d/index.json.

If you use the JSON data directly, I would appreciate a link or some sort of acknowledgement. This will be done automatically if you use the image url.
