Minnesota proposes law to preserve state documents |
The proposed Preservation of State Documents Act mandates an open and interoperable file format for all government documents. Seems like a no-brainer to me, but I'm sure Microsoft will try to derail it. Via Suzanne M. Fischer. |

ODF Add-in for Word Release 1.0 |
Release 1.0 of the ODF-Converter, a Microsoft Word plug-in to convert to OpenDocument Format (ODF) has been released. The official Microsoft press release carefully sidesteps the issues of support (or lack thereof) and the fact that it is not properly integrated (comparable to the other formats supported by Word). |
