Microsoft VHD Test Drive Program

2007-01-28

Microsoft has a VHD Test Drive Program for ISVs to include MS operating systems in pre-configured virtual machine images. Microsoft says it is "designed to ease customer's pains associated with installing and configuring complex environments for the purpose of evaluating Microsoft and partner products and solutions". I see this a the future of software distribution: these pains don't go away after you buy the software. Virtualization is also a great way to preserve functional applications with lots of dependencies.
